Biography: 

John B. Copenhaver (b. ca. 1840) was from Lebanon County, Pennsylvania and served as a corporal in Co. C, 93rd Pennsylvania Infantry. At the time of the 1860 Census, he was living in the household of his widowed mother, Magdalen Copenhaver, anlong with one older and four younger siblings. Copenhaver enlisted in October 1861, was wounded at Fair Oaks on May 31, 1862 and again at the Battle of the Wilderness on May 5, 1864. He survived and was discharged at the end of his term of service on October 28, 1864. The surname is spelled Coppenhaver in Census and military records.
