Camp How Nov 12th 1862
Dear Mary I want to
See you all to night butt
that cannot bee I am well
and enjoy my self verry well
plenty of company heer about
25 00 men here and thair is
another camp aboute one
mile from here I do not
know how many thair
is in it it is a very plas
ent plase here it is werry
pleasent plase here it is 4
miles from town that
is from where we left the
cars it is town the most
of the way the ground is
roling and dry the camp

is on the bank of the
old Mononghalia the
cars run by the camp [??]
to cars run from camp
to town evry [h]our 10 cts
down and back we left
girard at 9 and got at
cleevland 4 and 20 minits
and left at 9 and got
to Pitsburgh at 7 at nig
ht and marched to camp
and of all the noises you
ever heard we got her evry
man holloud loud
as he could cheering our we
have plen to eat and that
is good we have got out
blankets to day and good
ons to we will be sworn and

musterd in to morow and draw
our close we have a good hous
to live in and a good plase
to sleep plenty of rum and lite
candels we have go the best
company in camp company
A and at the head of the
regiment Capten Pettibone
is the Smartes capten in camp
he is acquanted with the head
officers and gits want he wants
we are not agoing to leeve here
at present they cannont
put ous in old regiments
with out we are a minte [1] to go
and we are not a mint to go
[Roofe?] mane is here and I
gues he is a first rate fellow to

I would not write till
we got setteld but if
I did not write to night
you could not git it this
week I canot tell
you whare to directt
till we git fixed
