Miss Isabell, A, Hamilton,
Onst more I lift my pen to let you
know that I am well at present hoping theas
lins may find you in good helth I reseved
your letter to day and was glad to
hear from you, we have had a butif
ul day I was out with the capton to
viset pikets we was to the river and
saw thare rifel pits and men I motion
to them with my hat and the returned it
after we was tired we claped spurs to our
horses and was up to in goy the plesure
of a dasing ride a long the piket
line and to hear t[h]e voise of our well
desiplend men call out to ous, in a dear
voise hult, which we would have to
obay and one go and make knowing

be of, Presedent Lincolon has been
reviewing the army of the potomac, we was
reviewed by him on the sixth of this month
if his [daults?] ant eny better looken

Dear Sister I am still well this
morning thare is a butiful breas
sweeping past our quarters and the
melodious sound of brass band’s is coming
from four regt in view namly 1st Ma.
1st RI, 4th Pa. and 6th Oh it is a plesent
[pime?], all our Bregt is out but 2 of
our squadron, the rest is on piket
and wont be in be fore to morow
well I must stop at present hoping
this letter may find you in a good
spirits as it leaves me nothing more
but reman your Brother

I have give you a fool detal
of what we have been at I
will now tel you that I saw
the 134 thay are well I will allso say
that I was in the 11 reservs I saw
the Boys and was glad to see them
so well and Alferd Agges is

my horse give out and I went
out one day and hunted to I
got a fouryear old mare and
I took her and left my old
one I will now thank Margret
for them gloves and just say

thay are as I cant take care
of them but then I have not
seen them yett but look
