Parris Island
March 11th 1863
Dear Sisters and Mother
I seat myself to day
to inform you that I got
that box and was glad
of it the things in it was
good but the turkey was a
littel spoilt on the part
that goes through the
fence last that boal of
jelly was verry good and
the peaches tasted excelent
I use the boal to drink
coffee out of instead of a
tin cup. It tasts more
Natural than out of a tin
cup these Rings is in return
for the box I maid them
myself with my pen knife

The big one is for Ellen
and the one with the hart
in is for Louisa and the
Plain one is for Mother
When you get this letter
Write soon and let me
know weather you get
them or not
Well you must
Excuse this short letter
This time I will try and
write the next one a
little biger
