Dear Cosen
I seat my self this plesant morni
ng to write you a few lines in
answer to them of yours. In the
first place we are all well &
I hope that when you get this it
will find you the same. We had
one of the bigest wind storms hear
on sunday I ever witness it blue
all our tents down except 2 that
[stant?] the gail it blue ours over
and spilt all of our ink so that
you must excuse me for writing
with a pensil the 3. & 4 squads
was to the City yesterday to
get our peases exchanged for
Howetzers. We had a nice time
[page 2]
No 1. 2. 5. &. 6 squads is out
shooting at a target now
they are making the woods
ring. Well Lizzy sharps woman
& mrs officer has been her for
some time and I expect that sharp
does not cair how long his wife
stays do[?] [yan?]. I have not
hurd when they was a going home
but when they do I supose that
you will hear all the wers fresh
from the mouth. I think that
mirage [1] you spoke a bout was
a pushing things or elce she wanted
a bead felow purty bad. I expect
all them felows will have all
the best girls picked out &
mired [2] a gain we get bace and
then we will have to take the
rest or do with out and that
will be hard for us to do
after staying a way from them
so long
[page 3]
It maid me feel like
starten back home when I
came to the plaice where the
party was to hear that there was
only 11 boys & .24. girls that will
not be the case always and I
hope that it will not be long.
J. K. is well but I supose that you
know that once a week any how
I will not weary your patience
any longer at this time so I will
close by saying write soon
Give my
love to all
