Dear Mother
I take
this opportunity to inform you
that we are well at present
and i hope that you are injoy[ing]
the same Blessing We ware paid
of yesterday and we Can send
you 20 dollars it is not as much
as we excepected to we had thout
we could send you 40 but they
did not pay us for the full time
They will pay the 2 of January
then thare will be 2 month due
then and i wont be home till
after the Holadays then i will have
something to fech along. Philip
Deorson Come down here for Jerome
Martin and i though it would
be a good time to send you some
money. You Can git gold or silver
for the notes at the Bank we
will send our clothes as soon as
we can get a chance that [??]

thare is nothing new in
Camp Major Beuhler was
down to see us this morning
he is more though[t] of than
any officer in the regament
and i think our men could
be very glad if he was captain
of our Company again although
Captain Martin is very good
to us i will have to stop
now as Philip wants to go
or he will miss the cars
and i still remain your
afectionate Son
