Biography: 

Charles E. Skelly (b. ca. 1840) was the son of Elizabeth A. Skelly and the brother of Johnston H. Skelly (b. ca. 1842) and Daniel Skelly (b. ca. 1844). He, along with his brother Johnston, mustered into Co. F, 87th Pennsylvania Infantry on September 25, 1861. Pvt. Charles E. (Ed) Skelly was discharged on October 13, 1864, at the expiration of his enlistment. The Skelly family was from Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
