Biography: 

Johnston H. Skelly (b. ca. 1842) was the son of Elizabeth A. Skelly and the brother of Charles E. Skelly (b. ca. 1840) and Daniel Skelly (b. ca. 1844). He, along with his brother Charles, mustered into Co. F, 87th Pennsylvania Infantry on September 25, 1861. On July 12, 1863, Cpl. Johnston H. (Jack) Skelly died of wounds received at the Second Battle of Winchester in June. The Skelly family was from Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
