we recieved
your letter and the things
this morning it found
Ed well and me improving
very fast all that is
wrong with me now is
Soar mouth and tongue
i think the Doctor Salevated
me but it is getting
better i have not eat
but five times since
last saturday a week
till to day i have a
pretty good apetite to day
and what i did eat
before i could eat at
one meal if i would
of been well they

thought i was going
to have a pretty hard
Spell of sickness the
way it started they
thought it was tyford
fever but they checked
it in a couple of days
and then i got the
diarea and when that
stopt i got Soar throte
and i supose when my
mouth gets well thier
be something else get
wrong for i think i am
to share of all deases now
you could not sent annuthing
better than them peaches
and things Mrs. Buehler
sent me some verry nice
orrenges and lemons from
Cumberlan she is staying
down thier now the
Major is attending a day

Court Marshal and

he was here yesterday he
said she wanted to send
something then but did
not know what to send
i bought a chicking
to day i chicken bought
and them crackers will
tast very nice i am
walking around but i am
verry weak
Ed is talking
of going to Piedmount
tomorrow Davis Fisher is
thier operating in the
Te[l]egraph office it is only
five miles from here
i was thier once but
i did not know Davis
was thier till the other
day Ed told me he heard

it some place and he seen
a yong man yesterday
that had been with her
the night before
you need not trouble
yourself about them reports
that some person or persons
have been circulating they
are all false and i think
i can take as good a
care of my self here as
at home my conciense is
clear and they can raise
as manny reports as they
please they cant hurt
me they might make
some person belief it at
home but it dont make
anny difference i ask no
favors of anny body as long
as uncle sam got anny
