Lutherville March 14
Dear Mother
I recieved
your letter with our
Clothes and was
very glad to hear from you
and that you ware well
We ware on a march the
day [we?] our Clothes came
we ware down at Mount Wash
ington ware we met Companies
A and F and our Cornell gave
uss a good drilling and it
was late when we got to camp
then got my supper and had
to go on gaurd 6 Companies
of our regament marched to
Towsen town yesterday ware we
ware reviewed by general
Dueyre [2] and he inspicted

our arms the general is
a very pleasant looking man
and i like very well he
thinks we have a good
regament and we have a
march ordred for tomorrow if
it does not rain We sent our
Dirty Clothes up to night
by George Meyers Mother thar
is no telling when we will be
moved away from here but
Durye says this is to good a
[??] to be laying along
this road and if we do move
i think thare will be only 6
Companys moved i have had
a letter from Father since he
left camp Curtan he was
well and liked Change very
well Mother Keep my wash
at home and dont get it
fixed for i am tired of [caring?]
it here for it gets very very

dirty and soon gets out
of repairs i have got over my
headache I was a little suprised
to hear that Aunt Jane was
agoing to get Married let her
go for i think it is the best
thing that she can do in her
old days i have a notion some
times to write to Kate Alhook
and let her know how we are
getting along in Camp Peter
is in his usal health but he
still complanes at times of his brest
and i believe he will as long as he
lives The vaccination didnt take
on Jack or me yet it is all drid
up on my arm The next time
we send our Clothes up we can
send some Coffee and soap
along give my love to Elmira
and Creayer and the rest of
the family and i remain your
