Louisa Cauler
I Take my pen
in Hand to
informe you these
few lines to let
you that I am well
at this preasent time
and I hope that you
are the same and I
hope that the baby Is
well to and father I am
going to Let you know
that we had a very
hard tim we [????]t
here but it was 100
degrees a [b???] [C??] it
is most [???]ble hot
and I Cant hartly

stand it when
we left lancaster
we had to wear drars
and woolen shirts and
father I am going
to let you know
that we half to work
[evry?] day we hav to dig
downd streets through

and father I am going
to let you know that
we hav plenty to eat
when I had my youny
frome on martin
W[??] tole me that
dady said if I woulden
get exempt they would
pay may find but

I think if they
wanted to pay my
find they might a
give me the money
then I coud a paid
my find soon as
I was ex ament
but i think this
wil learn them
to do their buisness
right at onc they

ting untill it is
to late rite soon
fore get it not but
dont rite untill i
rite again we will
half to leve one of
these days as soon
