my Dear and Loving wife
Tis with the greatest of
pleasure I Take my pen
in hand To informe you
This Few Lines To Let you
Know That I am Very well
at preasent and I hope
That This few Lines may
Find you enjoying good
Health and futher I am
going to Let you know
That I was out on picked
48 hours and i pretty good
Times we would holler over
at the joneys and they was
holling at us they wer
not just so very plenty
To be seen but still they
would be poping away at
us they shot two balls

in To our pitts and
we send double the number
back i onley fired one
shot at them they would
still shoot and then they
would holler Lay down and
we would then holler
railrod at them and begin
to shoot we could talk
to the rebs but we rather
shoot at them.
