Wensday Aprill 19th 1865
Dear Wife
I This day set down to wrigt
you A few Lines to Let you
know that i am well at pesent
hopeing this few Line may find
you in the same state of good
health And futher I received
your glad and evr well come
Letter and i was sorey to hear
that Little Norar is sick and
futher I let you know that
we have very hard marching
we martched 25 mils on the
rail road the other day we wer
martching in the direction
of danville But we are Laying
in Camp Now Resting we expect
to move to Birks vile this
afternoon or to morrow and fother
the war is going prety close to

an end and fother the wheathe
is very Nice now But the
martching still gos prety hard
we have had very hard tims
sinc the Campain opened and
hard fighting But i think
the hardest fighting is over
we all expect to Be home
gin the fourth of July next
But i must Close fore this
time and you must not
think it hard fore me not
wrighting sooner fore we have
Beign martching day and night
fore nearly 2 weeks and i had
no chance But i want you
to answer as soon as you get
this Letter. No more at present
