Dear wife
I Take the pleasure
of setting down this
Day to wright you
A few Lines to informe
you that i am
well at present hopeing
this few Lines of
scribling may find
you in the same
state of good health
and fother i received
your glad and ever
well come Letter and
was glad to hear from
you and i received
the stamps you send
to me and futher
i was very sorey to
hear that you wer

Not well But indeed
i cannot tell you
when we will Be
dis charged their is
no sighn yet that i
am going to get A
furlough if we dont
soon get discharged
But we will Be mustered
fore 8 month more
pay to morrow and
if they pay us of[f]
soon after we get
mustered i wont come
untill i am paid
and fother i want
you to ans wer as soon
as posable i have sent
2 this week i Like
to get Letters to read
and hear i am going
to send you A prety
