Jefferson J. Little
Jefferson J. Little (b. ca. 1837) and Francis Marion Little (b. ca. 1842) were brothers from Copiah County, Mississippi. They were the sons of W. E. Little (b. ca. 1810), a farmer, and Lavinia Little (b. ca. 1815). Both parents were born in Georgia, the children in Mississippi. In the 1860 Census, J. J. Little’s occupation was listed as “M.D.” Francis Little resided in his parents’ household and worked on the farm. The two brothers served in the “Bahala Rifles” (Co. H/I, 10th Mississippi Infantry) in April 1861. Jefferson served as a lieutenant until discharged for disability. The brothers later served in Co. A, 36th Mississippi Infantry.
