Fort Delaware June 8th 1864

Dear Wife
I take the present opportunity of writing you
a few lines to let you know that I am a
prisioner ot war at this place I was captur
on the 12th of may landed at this place on
the 20th Reuben Comer. A H. Keyser C A. young
A M. Hite & five others of the Company are
here with me. be shure to let them at home
hear from those that I have mentioned. Peter
Miller was Captured with me but got away
from me & I cant account for him. I wrote
to Joseph & Albet but have not heard from
them yet. the boys are all well except Jack
Johnson he is at the hospital. I have been in good
health ever since I was captured with the exception
of a cold, write as soon as you get this. Address
B F Coffman Co H 33 Regt Va Inft 2nd Division in
Care of Capt Ahl. A.A.A.G. By flag of truce to
U.S. Fort Delaware, Delaware.
