Biography: 

Benjamin H. Coffman (b. ca. 1827) was a Page County, Virginia farmer. He served as a corporal in Co. H, 33rd Virginia Infantry and was wounded at the Battle of Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862. Coffman was captured at the Battle of Spotsylvania on May 12, 1864 and confined at Fort Delaware until he was exchanged on October 30, 1864. The surname is Kauffman in the 1860 Census.
