Camp near fredricks burg va June the 3 1863
Dear frind after reseiving your kind letter
of the 23 amy 1863 Whch give me great sad
faction to get a letter from home and to hear
that you all was well an doing well and
glad to hear that you an martha was geting
a long so well with you work but am
sory to hear that you all have to work so hard
and glad to hear that your corn looks well
I am in hopes that it will be a good crop
yeare It is myty Dry heare ther is
nothing a makin hear nor will be sone if the
war dont stop which I hope it will sone
be over I have got me a pass to go an see
my brother to day I suppose he is in 3
milds of me Sund[ay?] [was?] last sundy
an harty I have stae all nite with him
since the fite an we talk sum surtain
