with pleasure that I seat my
self to inform you that I am
well at this time ever hoping
thees few lines may find you all
well I wold like to hear from
you for I have not heaird from
you sense the 13th I can say
to you that we left saltville
the 24 of this month and got
to Knoxville the 26 we are
24 miles from Knoxville
we ar in the line of battle
and expect to have a fite before
long and they epect that it will
bee a sevier battle I cant tell
my self but I can say and
thing I expect to Doo them all

no news to write at this
