Camp Lee Sept. 26
1864
My dear wife,
I seat my self
to let you hear from you me
once more, I have been in
the Hospital for the last ten
days sick with chills and
feaver But am getting about
well again. Your brother John
and his wife called to see me
in the hospital the other day
He and William have both
been conscripted and sent
to this place. I and they
intend to go to the 56th Regt
Wiliesburg company. They
are sending off conscripts
from this camp very fast.
Tom Haily is here he is
a light duty man he seems
quite miserable I want

how you are getting along
about something to eat
