Biography: 

Edward V. Lane (b. ca. 1825) was a farmer from Wylliesburg section of Charlotte County, Virginia and the husband of Jane Collins Lane. He enlisted as a private in Co. G, 56th Virginia Infantry, was taken prisoner at High Bridge, Virginia on April 6, 1865, and confined at Point Lookout, Maryland until his release on June 26, 1865.
