Biography: 

Owen Dale Ivins (b. Ohio ca. 1844) was from York Township, Elkhart County, Indiana. At the time of the 1860 Census, he resided in the farm household of his parents, Isaac (b. Ohio ca. 1807) and Mary (b. Ohio ca. 1815) Ivins, along with eight siblings. Owen Ivins mustered into Co. B, 29th Indiana Infantry as a private on October 1, 1861 and mustered out on January 7, 1865. By the time of the 1880 Census, Ivins and his wife, Ellen, had a farm of their own in Elkhart County and were parents of three children.
