Dear cosin

it is with the greatest
of pleasure that i take my
pen in hand to rite you
afew lines to let you know
that i am well at this
time hopeing that those lines
will soon come to hand and
find you injoing good health
dear cosin ihave nothing of
intrest to rite at this
time more than we are all
well that is here we had
to leave A andres on the way
he could not stand the mar
ch we are at parold on elk
river i cant tell how long
that we will stay her
it is about 90 niles to
nashville our corse is on[?????]
to that place there is ab
out 15 thousand yanks on the
way and there is about 80
thousand of our men going on
to nashville they are here

reddy to march at 1 min
utes warning wear Just a
bout ahundred miles from
chattanooga it may be [that?]
we may stay here some time
i want you to rite me
one letter any how and
direct it to Sparta tenn
and if we are gon the letter

the girls to rite to
me imust come to ac
lose rite son as you can
get this nothing
