Feb. the 13th 62 Dear friends
i take my
pen in hand to inform you
of my welfare i am not
verry well at this time i have
had the flux for 3 or 4 days
consequently i am considerably
reduced and as our Reg’t
or brigade received marching
orders yesterday evening i was
obliged to go to the hospital
for i am so weak that i can
not stand it to walk
they is 2 more of our boys left
with me we occupy the

upper part of a large
brick house in Lebanon
it is a better hospital than
the most of them are the
40th 57th & 58th Ind Reg’ts & the
24th Kentucky Regiment is
at the depo now waiting
for the cars they get to
ride about 25 or 30 miles
then they will hafto march
i dont know where we are
going to but i expect
we will go to Bowlin green
if this letter comes to hand
before Lee comes back i want
you to send me some
Composition for it is
good to drink when we
are marching and get
exposed

i think i will be able
to go to my Rigiment
before many days
i dont feel like writing
any more at this time
i hope those few lines will
find you all enjoying
good health so farewell
