Dar and Beloved wife I again
take my pen in hand to write
you another letter to let you no that
I am write End up yet and in good
health But not in a very good
umer I have Been promised [umer = humor]
a furlough Evry Day nearly Ever
Sens I have Been here But have
got none yet and Do not no
whether I Ever will get one or not
But am hopeing for the Best
O I no I have Done you a very grat
wrong in going a way the way I
did and leaving you the way I did
I was Blinded By the infernal
Recruiting Officer By him
promiseing me a Furlough I hope
the lord will forgive me and I
ask you to if you can

I would give half of my Bounty
now if I could Be with you
one weak But I am afraid
I will have to serve a yeare
Before I can See you unless
I Desert and I do not like to Do
that I have wrote to Wm Obrine
to pay Tom mury ten Dollars and
Bill Spayd four Dolars and give
you the Balance which will Bee
Three Hundred and Twenty six Dollars
I give you the privlege of Doing
what you think Best with it
I have a hundred Dollars more
that I got of Buckley which I
will Send home if you want
to By the Balance of that land
I do not think you had Beter
Buy more than two Shares
if you Buy have them to make
you the Deed and Stamp it
and then you must get some
one to pay the tax for you
