James Addison McMurtrey Letters, 1862-1864

James Addison McMurtrey (1837-1901) was born in Anderson District, South Carolina and served as a wagoner in Co. B, 9th Battalion Georgia Artillery. In December 1857 he married Lucinda Johnson, and the couple eventually had three children. After the war McMurtrey returned to his Fulton County, Georgia farm.
