John M. Adams Letter

John M. Adams (b. ca. 1839) was a farm laborer from Henry County, Georgia. At the time of the 1860 Federal Census, John M. Adams, his brother James, and their widowed mother, Jemima (b. ca. 1806) were living in the household of John's sister and brother-in-law, Lucinda M. and J. M. Ellis, a farmer. John M. Adams enlisted in Co. A, 30th Georgia Infantry in September 1861 and died of typhoid fever on April 21, 1862.
