Georgia Franklin Cty March the 22 1863
Dear hus band I have taken the opportunity of
writing you afew lines to let you know
that we are all well hoping that thew few
lines may come to hand and find you well
I received your letter the 18 that was dated
the 6 and was glad to hear from you I was
in hopes that none of you would have the small
pock but I heard that A M crow had it
I am mighty uneasy about it I am afread
you will have it if you doo I want you
to be as care fool and take as good care of
your self as you can if I was to hear
that you had it I dont know what I
would doo I want to see you the worst I
ever did In my lif your hair looked like
it use to I looked at it with many tears
Nancy James stayed with us from tuesday
tell friday and she went back to unkle
James and she may stay thare I dont
want her we hant planted any corn yet
we are most ready to plant pap and mother
is well your mother says she wants to
see you mighty bad and bobby is a pretty

little boy and is a heap of trou[b]le I want
you to write if you get the poke of things
and dozen eggs I sent buy green Mary
Phillips has got a fine son borned the 16
of this month O I want you to come home
the first chance you get I am so uneasy
I dont know what to doo I am so fread that
you will have the small pock I want you
to write Just as often as you can and let
me know how you are I pray every day
that you may be spared and not have
it the children wantes to see you mighty
bad if you can gett a fine coam I would
be glad if you would send me one they
cant be bought at no price I pray to
the lord that we may meete in this
world write as soon as you get this and
lett me know how you are and come home
the first chance you get I want to see
you the worst I ever did in my life we
