Dear Brother
I this morning
Seat myself to drop you a
few Lines this Leaves me well
and I hope they will find you
and family Enjoy ing the Same
good blessing Zeane is well
Harrison and gaines is gone
to Spring field in Effingham county
where they have Established
a Sick camp to recruit Sick
Soldiers Col Manning is
gone there to take convelesence
there is a great deal of fever
here you may depend the
Chill 2 fever is raging here
we have very good water
at our new Camp and
I think that if we could
Get the fever out of us

that we would be able for
duty also Stafford Thigpen is
also gone to the camp and
return to camps you can
See Becca She wants to come
down when you and gaines
Comes and Zean wants
brought down and Becca will
bring her let becca no So
that She can come with you
write me when you will
be down and I will meet
you with a wag gon at the
depot
