I this Evening with
the greatest of pleasure Seat
myself to drop you a few
Lines in answer to yours of
the 2nd instant this Leaves
me in good health hoping
these Lines may find you
and family & connection all
Enjoying the best of gods
Blessings I have nothing worth
writing Since my Last to writ
to you we Still remain here
at the Same place I wrote you
before that Harrison was at
Richmond and that gaines
was at Staunton but have
not heard of Zean yet but
I hope we will Soon hear
from him I think will

Hear for the prisoners that
was taken in the fight on
the 14th Sept has been Exchanged
and they are coming in and
I think that if he is a Live we
will hear from him Soon there
is Several that is not heard from
yet but we are Stil hearing
from Some of the regt Stafford
Thigpen has not been Heard
from yet Jack Wards boys
is all in the Hospital at
Either Staunton or Richmond
I dont where Jack Could
Come to us now for we are
about 3 miles from the Court
House and it is 107 miles from
richmond and the train is
going daily nothing more
at present I Remain
