Dear wife i am well at this time
an i hope that this letter may find
you an the babs well dear wife
we had a nother big Snow yestidy
an it was Sunday an we worked
all day for we are in a hurry to
git dun the battry we are building
it for foreteen guns that carres
a forty too lbs ball i tell you
if the yankeys comes in reach
of it tha will be in danger
the day that i told you a bout
the guns roaring So it was at
fair fax our men give them
hell that we kill fore or five
hundred of the devels an we
lost 18 kill we are looking
for a fight all the time day an
nite we have got our battry don
we built it before christmas
an now we are builing one
for the 27 Regt Geor vol
i long to git a pop at
the yankeys for i dont feel in
the least danger
