now at yorktown heare i
can See yankeys lots of them

time a comeing heare for it
Snowed tow days an nits
we come to richmon on
the cars an then toow [1] the
Stemer an Saild for york
town you must rite Soon
i will Send you ten dollars
in this letter excuse my
Short letter yourse truly

tell Mary that henry is well
an tell her that he sed he would
not rite to day for chance is bad
