My Dear wife I will write you
a few lins to let you no that I am well and I hope that this
may find you all the Same I am tired of waiting for a letter from
you for it has ben a month nearly sence I got one from
you and I have wrote you five or six sence the fight
we will Start to Golds Borrow N,C Soon an then we will
lie too hundred an fifty miles nearer home an then
you can come an See me we are old D.H. Hills choice
of the army of the Potomack he give a nother Brigade
an a nother Regment to Boot for our Brigade
when we get there I hope we will git to rest Some
give my love to all of my folks an yourn an receive
the grates Potion for youre Self i don one days
washing thies weake an i Skind my hands I will

to him for coming to richmond an not coming
