June 9th 1863
My Deare wife
I will write you a few lins to inform
you that I am well and I hope that this
letter may find you and my little Baby the
Same deare wife I got a letter from you
last nite and I was glad to heare that you
all was doing well but I was Sorry to
heare that J Beasley had died but that
cant be hope [1] for we have all got to die Soon
or late and we all ort to prepair to
meet our god for we have got him to
meet in soror or joy one or the too but
I hope it will be my lot to face him in
peace I want you to do the best you can

and I will do the same the crops you say
looks bad an I am Sorry of that for I
want a plenty of Bread for us Poor fellows
to eat when we have to fight the yankees
the crops looks fine out heare for the
time a yeare you must let me no if
you got my Pistol and the Buttons and
the ring that i Sent to you or not and
let me no what youre ma sed to her
ring and how She liked it I have got a
confrederate Bres Pin that I made I will
send it to you in the next letter it is
made out of Bone in the Shape of a hart
and has got 2 flags cut on it and you

must let me no if Ed Anderson has
Paid you for youre cow or not and if he
has not you must make him pay
you for he is at home makeing money
and I am in the war figting for his
famley you must give my love to
my folks and to youre Pa and ma
and to babe you can tell Mary that
W H Little is well and fat you must
kiss my little baby for me I kissed
it little hair that you sent to me
you can tell meady that T N is well
and tell uncle hugh that Dennis is
well and So is Ed you must

not think hard of me for not paying
the Postage for I have not got
the Stamps you must excuse this
Small Bad hand write for I have
to write it so so as to have
room you msut tell me all a bout
tom and Gild Inglet and where tha
are at I am a Shamed of them and
more of my kin besides them
I will Say to you to give my love
to fanny and tell her to be a good
Girl I will Close by Saying I hope
to heare from you soon my lobe
