June 13 1863
Dear wife
I will writ you a few lins
to let you no that I am well
and I hope this letter may find
you and the Baby the Same I
have nothin new to write to
you only we have a heap
of rain and the corps looks
fine dear wife a good meny of
the wemmen are comeing out
heare to see there old men but
can tell you that I dont want
you to come for there is nothing
in the world to hinder the yankees
from takeing this Section of
north carolina for we ant got
but three thousand men heare
the the yankee forse that is a
gainst us is fifty thousand
and we are looking for them ever
day we are on Picket and has bin
ten days but we will go to
camps to day give my love to all
nothing more Good By my love T W G I
write soon
