Wilmington N.C
My Deare wife I will
write you a few lins to inform
you that i got youre kind letter of
23 inst and i was glad to heare
that you and my little baby was
this leaves me well and i hope it
may find you and all the
rest the same i have nothing
new to write to you at this
time only i heard last nite
that the yankees was advancen on
us but i dont no we Sent a
Company to Reinforce our Picket
and i have not heard from them
Sence i Sent you 2 letters yesturday
to Bezelia by Leiut Hill house
one of witch i wrote to Send
by James Lott but he is not
gon yet but i think will go
Soon i will Send this by
C Liut B T Skinner and
i will Send you Some fine
Cantalope Sead in it

when you write Send me a
half a Sheat of Paper and a
invelop in each of youre letters
for i cant get eny money to
by it with i cant get a chew
of Tabacco with out beging it an
all of the Regt is out as well
as me i wish i could come
home to get my new Shirt
but i dont nead them
you Sed that you wanted me
to Come home there is no chance
unless you or me one was to get
Sick and i hope we Will not
but if you ever do get sick
i will tri and come to see
you Give my love to all an
