My Deare wife I will write you a few lins
to let you no that I Received youre letter
to day that was dated 29 of Sept and I was
glad to heare from you for it looked like
you had quit writeing to me and I dont
think you think as much of me as you
use to but I hope you will not fer get
me for I no I will never fer get you as
long as this world Stands you Sed you
wanted to no if I wanted a Shirt I would
like to have one but I dont perticular
nead it you sed you would come and bring
it to me you cant get heare yet for tha
will not let wemmen come to charlston
it is Rumerd that our Brigade is
going to the west and if we go to the
west we will come by home and if we
dont go jest as Soon as tha will lett
me I will send for you and let you
come to see me for I no I will never
get to come and see you you sed tha
had got a nother member at Oak
Grove I am glad of that for I hope you
will soon become a member of the church
Church for I want you to meet me in

place god bless you all I hope the time will
Soon come when you all are members of
the church this is from my hart I pray
for you and all the rest every day there
is Seven or eight of us young members
that has got us a Place to meet every
day and there we Sing Prases to our god
hoo is So good to us and then we get dow
n on our nees and we pray to god to fer
give our sins & to fer give youre sins and
we pray for god to have mercy on you
all and to be with you and to help you
all to live rite in the site of god O I
Pray that god will hasen the time for us
all to meet in peace but I do no that god
will do his will an so I am Satisfide
in the war or out there is no news hear
our men and the yanks keep Shelling yet
this leaves me in good health and I hope
it may find you all the Same I will
close by Saying I hope to heare from
you all soon give my love to all and
receive the best Potion for youre Self
