My Deare wife I will write you a
few lins to let you no that I am
well and I hope this may find you
the same my deare I had to take a
long march down on James Island
after the yanks an we run them all off
of the Island an we killed five of them
an then we had to come here we got
to Savannah last nite an we will Starte
to lake city florida tomorrow
I expect my dere I sent up a
furlough last Sunday this day
was a weeke a go but I have not
got it yet my dere I will close
by Saying give my love to all dont
