My Deare wife I will drop you
a few lines to let you no that I am
well and I hope this may find you an
the Baby the Same my deare I have
nothing much to write to you at this
time only we have to work verry hard
Sunday not excepted but we cant
help it for it has to be don this
war is a harde thing but we will
have to put up with all tha put up
on us but I hope that god will
Smile upon us an bring us out
safe if he does not I dont see what
will become of us tho we will never
be whiped untell our bread an
meat gives out I have sed a nuff afor
this time a bout the war I would
give a heape jest to see you an
tolk to you a while it may be
a long time before we meat a
