My Dear Little Mattie I will drop you a few lins to let
you no that I am well and I do hope to our allmitie
Father that this may come safe to youre hand and find you
all in the best of health my Dear mattie I have
nothing new to write to you only we had a toos
days fight on the Welldon Railroad an we took
twenty five hundred Prisners our Brigade taken that
meney.. we lost fore out of our company J D Johnson
wounded in Brest arm and hand James through the
Brest an Ed Inglet An James Lott Vinson killed or taken
Prisners my Dear I was Sorry to hear that Tom Inglet
was Wounded I hope he will get over it an kill five
for it yet I was Sorry to heare the death of Mrs
Beasley but I hop she was prepaird to meet her god
we all have got to meet him who is Judge of the
quick an Ded I am out of the ditch one nite to rest
an I runaway from camp to nite an went to the
Wagon gard an I an W H is in his wagon a writeing
at this time but we have got to go back to the
ditch tomorrow morning an releave the 19th Ga Regt
an let them rest a nite I will not rite much as
I was on picket last nite an I did not get to rest
much give my love to all of my folks an to
yourse an receive a large potion for youre selfe you
must excuse bad writing an correct all mistakes
for the mules are shakeing the wagon so untell I cant
