Dear mother I take this oppertun of riting you
a fiew lines to let you no that i am wel and
have bin well I have rote three letter
to you and Caroline Since I left home the
last time and have not recievd any by
mail yet I want you to rite to me
and rite oftain I think that maby it
will not be ver long til we have the
pleasure of Cumming home to stay
we ar looking for ordors to go to Knoxvill
we dont no what minute we will leave nor
whar we will got[o] So nothing more at
presant the orders has Cum us to go
to knoxvill Just now So I must close
and go to Cooking direct your letters to
Chattanooga tennesee and then they
Will follow on sonothing more
