once more I seat my self to drop
you a fiew lines which will
inform you that I am well
truly hoping those fiew lines
will reach your Kind hand
and find you well and doing well
I havent any thing of intrest
to wrote to you at this time
I recievd your Kind letters dated
the 9 and the 14 and was glad to
hear from you you wrote you wold
like to sea me cum home I wold
like to cum and have tried to get
a furlow but cannot at this
time I was very proud to hear
M B had got home and I hope
he will get to s[t]ay til I can cum
tho he cannot stay as long
as he pleases nor I cannot cum
when I please if I could I wold
have cum long a go

we have all reinlisted for
the war they had passed a law
holding us all in survis and
not allow us to reorganize and
our Cornal said that we cold
reinliste and reorgaize and be
in en titled to a furlow one
for evry ten and we shold have
the privalige of doing it
we ar drawing for furlows now
I think I will get one after a while
if I cold have seen any way to
a got out of it I wold held
back but I was in for the war
any how and if thar was any
advantage I wold take it
the war is Just as s[h]ore to end
in 64 as it is going on more
I think and may god send
it soon for it is the desire

distress of your fother tho I
