Dear wife I rote you a letter
Severl days a go and did not
Get it mailed and I will
ad a fiew lines as I have
no nues since it was rote
I recievd your letter the 20
that you rote the 12 it was
a grate pleasure to me to
open it and read that you was
well an doing as well as you ar
tho I am a frade that when
I hear from you a gain your wheat
will be spoiled with the rain
tho I hope not the weather is
yet unseteled we have a bad
time to cook tho we do a site
of it I can bake more bread
than four wimin I wold like
well to have the chance of eating
som of your your and mothers
cooking I get a plenty of
meat and bread to eat

I dont no what you will think
when you get this old black
letter but I have no paper and
I will send it along and you
can read som of it our men is

evry day the men is geting very
tired of it and well ni worne
out I must close for it is a
goin to rain and I will get
my letter wet for my old tree
will not turn all of the rain
Caroline I hear the feds is
a crossing the river at
shaller ford a bove gansvill
but I do not beliave it
you must rite soon and oftain
as you can and I will do the
same direct your letters to

him and H F Kidd was well
