lines to let you know no that we are
all well as comon trusten those
few lines may reach your kind
handes in deu time and find
you all well and douing well i hav
nothing strang to right more
than i hird the yankes is geten
clost by i fear tha will cum and
distrouy all we hav got god onley noes
what will becum of us but i dont
sister you Said you wanted to no
how i was geten along i cam am douing
varey well for i hav had good
helth all the summer i hav
worked out all the time and if
i could be let a lone with what
i make i could liv well but i
fer the yankes will brake me up
wee hav maid a fine crop of wheat
and oates and the rest of our
cropes looks vare well if it rains
well make a nuf to do us vare
well i recivd a leter from sister
maley catlett she was well an
brother was well the first of may

from william he is in three miles
