I now seat my self to right you A few
lines to let you no that I am well hoping
these few lines may find you all enJoying good
health I can informe you that we hav not bin
in eney fight yet but we expect to bee orderd off
from this place before long but we doo not no
where we will hav too go I can informe you that
we had A ruf time while we was travling Too ole
Virginia it raind near all the time we was travling
we come throo some larg citys we come throo petersburg
and richmon and several other citys and now we
are at the city of gordons ville About 90 miles
from richmon not very far from the enmies

you receivd the money from that R. R. alerson
has of mine and let me no wether you got the
clothing that I sent in P. Bager box or not
A new subject I can informe you that I hav
bought A good deal of whiskey sense I hav
bin out left concord I baught one quarte
My dear I would like too see bud and sis very well
well I will bring those few lines to A close by
asking you to right as soon as you get this doo
not fail in righting soon so nothing more
