Deare wife
It is with pleasure that
I seat my self to drop you a few lines
in order to let you know that I am
well at the presant time and hoping
when those few lines comes to hand
tha may find you all well and
in joying your selvs fine I Receivd
your cind leter and was glad to hare
hare from you all a gane I Receivd
your leter last week and Red it
with pleasure to hare from you
all I havt nothing to write at this
time that wold bee eney intrust to
Read we went on picket yester
day and the yanks has most all
gon but I cant tell whair the air
gonto som ses the air cossing the
River a bov fred ricks burg but
I cant tell whether it is tru or not

I want you tell fathernlaw to write
if he dont I will hav to get a holt of him
som time I wold like to hare from
him and I want him to write and let
