Greensborough N C august the 20 1864

Dear Brother I will inform you that I have
to leave to day for my command I am
very feeble but I hope I will improve traveling
I would come home but dont feel able to
walk home and Back I have no blanket
with me but will try and get one soon
William sell my tobacco and do the best
you can with it and pay for it and the
Box plank also settle my doctors bill if you
please and I will make all right with you
if I live to get home again tel them all
good by for me and do the best you can
for your selves all of you I will write
again soon so nothing more Peter Amos
