Der father and mother and sisters
I take my pen this mrning to pen
yo a few lines to let yo know that
I am as well as comen tho I hav bin
very bad off with hemrods sinc
I hav bin here and it panes me
very much this morning tho it is
a grat eal beter than it has bin
I did not get discarged before
the bord they sine me over to lit
duty as camp gard i do not know
what they will do with me whether
they will keep me heare or not I hav a good

here yet they are not sined over yet they
dont know what they will do with

I recieved your leter of the 7 yesterday
morning and was glad to hear yo was
well and getting along so well with
your work I also receved aleter from
R H Cooks they ware as well as
comon yo wanted to know whether
I had Sent the socks to Wm L I
hav not sent them yet I was glad
to hear he is on the mand there is
men going to richmon evey few days
from here to take prisners but no one
that I could send them with as they
would not hav the chanc to tak them to
him I hav just bought 6 apples
for 50 cts I hav bin on gard 2 days
and night since I hav bin here the
balanc of the time I hav bin laying
about doing nothing but eating
we hav plenty of beef and bread
we hav both flower and corn bred
we eat but twise a day there is
not many coming in now

be examened we get but litel
nuse her the cares run off tuesday
betwen greensborough and Danvil
and killed and wounded 15 or 20 men
if the people at home thinks that
they want such a machanic as I
am for the neighberhood if they
will get up a partition tha it is
nessary to hav such a machanic at
home as I am and get som ten 10 or
12 siners or as many as they can
and hav them swern and get the
county seal to it
and get the Enroling offiser
to sine it and send it to Jeneral
homes at raleigh they may get
me off if they dont want in that
way tell Robert Smith to
get me detailed if he can if

or I think it a grateal more needed
