Dear and beloved
Wife I a gain resume
my seat
to drop you a few lines
to inform you of my helth
when at the same time I
am anchieous to hear from you
I have ben looking fur a
letter from you but I have
not reseved one sence I saw
you last Dear Wife write it
would do some good to hear from
you my helth is not as good
as it was when I saw you
I have got a vary bad cole
and sore throat but I am a
giting better and a letter from
you I think will make me
sound and well I have never
bin unabel fur duty yet
we have formed our regment
and elected our offercers &c
William Hoke is our Cournel
Duckery [1] lutennet Cornel
Capt sharpe [2] Mager we hated

had it to do we then hell
election fur out Companey
we elected lutenent Rhiem [3]
fur our capting and the we
elected luten Flowers [4] fur
our first lutenant and
olerver Paterson [5] second &c
thare is no nuse of importance
here onley the men of this
county is drafted tha are taking
every third man I must stop
and go and hear preaching I have
now returned to my seat a gain
to finish this letter
