Dear Wife
I this morning seat my
self to drop you a few lines
to in form you that we are well
and I hope thase few lines may
find you all well I reseved
that letter you sent in cear
of Tomson I was glad to hear
from you wonce more and then
yesturday I reseved one that was
wrote March the 24 it dose me
good to get a letter from you
Dear Wife you must excuse me
fur not writin you a long letter
fur I have not got time I will
send that nuse paper home
I was taking it when I was
at Raleigh and after I left
thare I thaut he would send
it where he all ways did I
will send him a few lines
and then you can get the paper
a gain you said that Palee
Lorance wrote in his letter that
the nuse down here was to
good to tell he must of heard
more than I hav if he heard
eny good nuse a tall times
here are dull all tho we are

stand that we will have to
take Nubern back in a weake
or so I will tell you a dream
of a soldier one day he fell a
sleepe and his capt tried to
wake him upe but he could not
and after while he woke him
self and he told them that
he would die next day a bout
twelve o clock and the last
weake in this month would be
the hardes battel faught that
ever was heard of and in may
peace would be made I tel
this as I heard it red in
the papers and next day a
bout the time he said he
would die he died I suppose
this tale is true tell mary
that John is gard to day we
send a letter to you ever
weak and I think tha must
get mis placed tell the old man
that severel of us boyes has mad
a box and pact it full of close
a blankets and sent it to states
vill we bact it to him the
names of all the Boyes is in thare
